Jones named Rawlings Hitter of the Week

COLUMBIA SC - Columbia Blowfish left fielder Demontez Jones (Georgia Southern) has been named the Rawlings Hitter of the Week in week seven of the Coastal Plain League season.

Jones has been red-hot lately, and it showed in his four games this week. He finished the week with an average of .700, including a double and his first home run of the summer. He scored six runs and had five RBIs and had an incredible 1.100 slugging percentage, .786 on-base percentage courtesy of four walks. He added a pair of stolen bases to those numbers, including the teams 144th stolen base of the year, which tied the previous record for team stolen bases in a year.
